Home as a Carrier - Milton Mondal

The exhibition brings together works, fragments, and shared experiences where personal narratives meet those of others. Rather than tying home to a specific place, Milton Mondal treats it as something that continues to move, accumulate, and transform along the way.

Mondal creates works about places that are difficult to leave behind. Home recurs often in his artistic practice, though it is rarely a comfortable or permanent location - a house can become a memory, a landscape can become an archive, and something deeply personal can unexpectedly belong to many. His practice spans multiple disciplines and follows ideas rather than a particular medium, often emerging from family histories and experiences of movement between places. He is less interested in preserving the past than in seeing what it becomes when carried elsewhere.

Mondal currently participates in IN SITU, the European platform for artistic creation in public space, for the period 2025-2028. Public space, dialogue, and collaboration become increasingly present in his practice, while questions of home, memory, and movement continue to travel with the works.
