Echoes Of Starvation - Haky Jasim

Haky Jasim was born in Baghdad, Iraq in 1958 and received his MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1990. His artistic practice moves between the visual and the multimedia - figurative sculpture, two- and three-dimensional objects, and illustration combine with experimental collage-film where individual narratives are woven into a rhythmic whole.

In the exhibition Echoes Of Starvation, Jasim creates a space for dialogue about life, death, and the privileges that our civilization selectively distributes. The works are a selection from the period 2017-2025.

Previous exhibitions have been held at, among others, Hammarkullen konsthall (2019), NEJD Ateljé/verkstad on Ringön (2021), Kulturhuset in Bergsjön (2022, in collaboration with artist Jelena Rundqvist), Angereds Bokmässa and Galleri Grafik i Väst (2024), and in Venice (2025).
