Lecture: Color Theory from a Creative Perspective

Art educator Maria Malmberg Wallin gives a lecture on color from a creative perspective. Some facts about color are objective - how the color wheel and complementary colors work, or how the anatomy of the eye determines which wavelengths we can perceive. What you yourself find to be harmonious combinations and which is your favorite color, however, is largely subjective.

Over the course of nearly an hour, Maria Malmberg Wallin shows images from both painting and textiles and provides concrete examples of how artists and craftspeople have used complementary colors and other color techniques in their compositions.

The lecture costs 100 kr and is free for members of the Bror Hjorth Association and the Uppsala Handicraft Association. The number of places is limited, so advance booking is required. The lecture is held in collaboration with the Uppsala Handicraft Association and the Bror Hjorth Association.
