Skogen | Pajala

What determines whether someone is a friend or an enemy?

It is the late 1500s and Nordkalotten is a battlefield. The Swedish king and the Russian tsar drive peasant armies against each other in a region where people have lived for generations without borders or national allegiance. In the midst of this is the teenager Mikko, who dreams of following his father and brothers into battle - but for which people should he actually fight?

The performance follows Mikko through a world where every choice carries a price, and poses questions about courage and identity that feel far from distant even today. Skogen is a production by Tornedalsteatern.
