François Leterrier is a French actor and director, best known for playing the condemned prisoner Fontaine in Robert Bresson's film A Man Escaped (1956). He later moved behind the camera and directed several French films during the 1960s and 1970s.
Jacques Ertaud (18 November 1924 – 18 November 1995) was a French film director and screenwriter. Along with Marcel Ichac, he co-directed the film Stars at Noon, which entered into the 9th Berlin International Film Festival.
Robert Bresson was a French film director known for his austere, highly controlled style. His film "A Man Escaped" (1956) is based on a true story of escape from a Nazi prison during World War II. He is widely regarded as one of the most distinctive voices in European art cinema.
