About the venue

Fredriksskans is a 17th-century fortification on a small island outside Kalmar, built to guard the sea approach to the city. The well-preserved earthwork and stone structures make it one of the more intact examples of early Swedish coastal defence. During summer it serves as a venue for outdoor events.
