Kungliga Operan on Gustav Adolfs torg is Sweden's national stage for opera and ballet. The neoclassical building opened in 1898 and is home to the Kungliga Hovkapellet, one of the oldest orchestras in the world. The programme spans baroque opera through to contemporary productions.
