About the venue

Långbans Gruvby is a well-preserved mining village in Värmland with roots in iron and manganese ore extraction dating back to the 17th century. The site holds a special place in mineralogy - more than 60 mineral species were first described from samples found here. Today it operates as an open-air museum, with guided tours and cultural events running through the summer.
