Mårbacka Minnesgård

Östra Ämtervik

About the venue

Mårbacka Minnesgård in Östra Ämtervik is the estate where Selma Lagerlöf was born in 1858 and spent most of her life. She bought it back with her Nobel Prize money in 1907 and had the main house rebuilt in a neoclassical style. Today it operates as a museum, offering guided tours of her home, furnishings and personal belongings.
