Örebro Castle is one of Sweden's best-preserved medieval castles, sitting on a small island in the Svartån river right in the city centre. Its origins date to the 13th century, and it served for centuries as a royal residence and fortress. Today the castle hosts exhibitions, guided tours and public events.
