Skansen Open-Air Museum

Stockholm

About the venue

Skansen is the world's oldest open-air museum, founded in 1891 by Artur Hazelius on the island of Djurgården in Stockholm. More than 150 historic buildings from across Sweden - farmsteads, churches, urban workshops - have been relocated here, alongside a zoo featuring Nordic wildlife. The site regularly hosts concerts, folk celebrations and seasonal events such as the midsummer festivities and the Christmas market.
