Andrew Strong (born 14 November 1973) is an Irish singer who shot to fame as a teenager playing Deco Cuffe in Alan Parker's 1991 film The Commitments. The son of Irish rock singer Rob Strong, he grew up in a musical household and had no acting experience before landing the lead vocal role. His raw, powerful delivery of soul and R&B classics drove the film's soundtrack to over 12 million copies sold worldwide, earning a Grammy nomination and four BAFTA wins. He has toured internationally ever since, regularly performing the full Commitments soundtrack live.
Strong performed three Sweden dates in November 2025 - Uppsala, Vasteras and Stockholm (Berns) - his first Swedish shows since 2002, marking the lead-up to The Commitments' 35th anniversary.
Strong played Mo i Rana, Norway on 18 October 2025 as part of his autumn European tour.
Strong played multiple Danish theatre dates in September 2025, including Odense and Svendborg.
Strong headlined the Porretta Terme Soul Festival in Italy on 24 July 2025 and played Forest Fest in Ireland on 27 July 2025.
Strong returned to Australia for the first time since 2018, performing The Commitments soundtrack in full across five cities in September 2024.
