About

Daniel Lemma (born 1970 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia) is a Gothenburg-based singer-songwriter whose music draws on American blues, gospel and soul. He broke through nationally with the soundtrack to Josef Fares' film Jalla! Jalla! (2000) and the gold-certified album Morning Train (2001), and has since released over ten albums - several on his own Dextra Music label - ranging from reggae-tinged collaborations to Swedish-language records and a 2023 session recorded on location in Addis Ababa.
