Stora Teatern in Gothenburg is one of Sweden's oldest active theatres, founded in 1859. Its auditorium on Kungsportsavenyn features classic tiered balconies and has hosted opera, musicals and drama over the decades. Since the 2000s it has been run by GöteborgsOperan and stages a varied programme of performances.
