Gothenburg Dance and Theatre Festival

The Gothenburg Dance and Theatre Festival is held every other year, with the next edition taking place 21-30 August 2026. The festival is produced in collaboration with major performing arts institutions and several independent theatres in Gothenburg, with Stora Teatern serving as the hub and meeting place.

The programme spans dance, theatre, circus and performance - featuring guest performances on multiple stages throughout the city and Västra Götaland, plus free outdoor activities.

Founded in 1994, the festival invites international performing arts companies and artists from around the world. It is organized by Stora Teatern, part of Gothenburg City Theatre AB and the City of Gothenburg.
