A concert where spoken word and poetry meet jazz improvisation and the power of a big band. On stage: poet and performer Daniel Boyacioglu, jazz pianist Mathias Landæus, and Bohuslän Big Band.

The music draws from Daniel Boyacioglu and Mathias Landæus Trio's albums Bön för världen and Älska oss nu, but takes on new dimensions in arrangements for big band. Built on Boyacioglu's poetic texts, the concert explores questions of identity, belonging, love, and power - where the personal intertwines with the political. Anger, tenderness, humor, and prayer sit side by side, and the words become both fragile and monumental as they meet Landæus' improvisations and Bohuslän Big Band's sonic landscape.

Daniel Boyacioglu is credited with establishing the spoken word tradition that has become influential in contemporary Swedish poetry. He has published poetry collections, created several stage performances, and an opera at the Royal Opera House in Stockholm, and most recently fronts the pop band Daniel4ever. Mathias Landæus has released around twenty albums since his 1996 debut and is known as an adventurous improviser. Bohuslän Big Band is one of Sweden's most acclaimed big bands - Quincy Jones called them "A World Class Jazz Orchestra" - and they are nominated for the American Grammy Awards 2026.
