Report on the Blind - "The Fantastic Fusion of Literature and Music"
Bohusläns Chamber Music Festival 2026 opens with Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, performed by the chamber orchestra The Funäs Chamber Soloists - an ensemble of string musicians from across Europe. They are led by violinist and conductor Massimo Quarta, winner of the Paganini Competition. The first part of the concert is entirely devoted to Vivaldi's music.
After the intermission comes the performance Report on the Blind, in which John Malkovich portrays a man searching in darkness for the origins of evil in the world. His stage performance is combined with Alfred Schnittke's Concerto for Piano and String Orchestra, performed by pianist Anastasya Terenkova. The work is based on a passage from Ernesto Sabato's novel On Heroes and Tombs.
