Ukrainian folk music ensemble performing traditional music from Podolia and Eastern Galicia - a musical journey through historic village weddings and folk festivals.
Kapela Apostola (also known as The Apostles or Apostoles) is a Ukrainian folk ensemble specialising in the instrumental dance music of Podolia and Eastern Galicia. Their repertoire - mazurkas, kozaks, kolomyikas, polkas, waltzes, foxtrots, and Jewish wedding dances - is reconstructed from pre-war vinyl recordings, private musical archives, and 19th- and 20th-century ethnomusicological collections. The band plays archaic instruments: fiddle, tsymbaly (hammered dulcimer), bass, tambourine, and drum, reviving the sound of village and small-town weddings from the era of Oskar Kolberg.
Kapela Apostola was featured on muzykatradycyjna.pl, a Polish platform dedicated to traditional music, highlighting the ensemble's multicultural Podolian repertoire and archaic instrumentation.
