The Tallest Man On Earth

The Tallest Man on Earth performs at Palladium in Malmö on 3 February. Doors open at 19:10, the concert starts at 19:30 and runs for 90 minutes with an intermission. Bar and bistro open from 18:30. Age limit: 13+.

Kristian Matsson has spent more than two decades building a distinctive sound around his raw voice, restless guitar work, and winding melodies - music that can shift from whisper to release with surprisingly minimal means. The arrangements have grown over the years, but the core has remained unchanged.

On the forthcoming album "Just Beyond Endless Mountain" (released 9 October), the music takes a new turn. After years of touring and time in the USA, Matsson returned to Dalarna and began listening to Polish music and old recordings of folk musicians from the region where he grew up. The violin - an instrument he has long had a complicated relationship with - became a new obsession. The album was recorded at home in Dalarna using vintage tape machines, and Matsson describes it as the work that feels most like himself. Swedish folk music functions here not as nostalgic backdrop but as a source for new ways of playing, writing, and singing.

On stage, The Tallest Man on Earth remains the same restless and physical force: one moment nearly whispering, the next crying out.
