Kristian Matsson, born 1983 in Leksand, Dalarna, is a Swedish singer-songwriter who records and performs as The Tallest Man on Earth. His raw, fingerpicked guitar style and gravelly voice drew widespread international attention from the breakthrough album The Wild Hunt (2010) onward, with critics frequently comparing his songwriting to Bob Dylan. Since his 2006 debut he has released eight studio albums on ANTI- Records, building a devoted following across Europe and North America.
Matsson announced his eighth studio album, Just Beyond Endless Mountain, due October 9, 2026 on ANTI- Records, rooted in the Swedish folk traditions of his native Dalarna.
The album was shaped in part by the death of Matsson's father in 2024 after several years with Alzheimer's disease.
Matsson released the lead single 'Deliver Me From Trying', accompanied by a video filmed in the Swedish countryside.
Matsson released 'Colors', his first new music in nearly three years, and announced a 24-date North American fall tour.
Matsson is set to play the SuperTraditional Festival in Stockholm on September 12, 2026.
