Bass Drum of Death is an American garage punk band from Oxford, Mississippi, founded by John Barrett in 2008 as a one-man project and now operating as a trio with Jim Barrett on guitar and Ian Kirkpatrick on drums. Known for raw, fuzz-heavy lo-fi punk, the band broke through with the 2011 debut LP GB City on Fat Possum Records and has since released six studio albums, with their music appearing in Grand Theft Auto V, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and The Vampire Diaries.
Bass Drum of Death released their sixth studio album SIX on September 12, 2025 via Fat Possum Records, recorded with producer Jeremy Ferguson at his Battle Tapes studio.
The band launched the SIX USA Tour 2025 in support of the new album, playing dates across the United States through late 2025.
Bass Drum of Death played Le Grand Mix in Tourcoing on January 20, 2026, as part of a European run also including Paris.
The band released the live album Live... and Let Die on June 8, 2024, recorded at Chicago's Cobra Lounge in April 2023.
Say I Won't, the band's fifth studio album produced by Patrick Carney of the Black Keys, was released on January 27, 2023, marking their return to Fat Possum Records.
