About

David Eugene Edwards (born 1968, Englewood, Colorado) is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, best known as the founder and frontman of 16 Horsepower - the Denver band that pioneered gothic country in the 1990s by fusing bluegrass, gospel and Appalachian instrumentation with rock. After 16 Horsepower disbanded in 2005, he continued under the name Wovenhand, and has since 2023 also released music as a solo artist. His lyrics draw deeply on his Christian faith, circling themes of sin, redemption and grace.
