Gotland Chamber Music Festival
Gotland Chamber Music Festival brings together international classical musicians during week 30. The festival opens with a piano evening featuring Staffan Scheja and cellist Antonio Roland.
Jacob Kellermann (born 1984, Stockholm) is one of Scandinavia's most active classical guitarists, equally at home as a soloist and chamber musician. He has performed with orchestras including the London Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic and Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, and appeared at venues from the Concertgebouw Amsterdam to the Seoul Art Center. His four albums on BIS Records span Gubaidulina, Schubert, Spanish concertos and Takemitsu; the 2020 release won a Swedish Grammy and was named record of the year by Dagens Nyheter. A committed advocate for new music, he has had works written for him by composers such as Sofia Gubaidulina, Toshio Hosokawa and Francisco Coll.
Sveriges Radio (P2) broadcast a solo recital by Kellermann recorded at Stockholm Concert Hall's Grünewaldsalen, airing on 21 April 2025.
Kellermann performed at the Takefu International Music Festival in Japan, giving the Japanese premiere of Toshio Hosokawa's new work '12 Japanese Songs'.
Kellermann's fourth BIS album, 'Takemitsu: Spectral Canticle', recorded with the BBC Philharmonic and conductor Christian Karlsen, was released on 5 May 2023.
Kellermann premiered Toshio Hosokawa's first work for guitar in 15 years at a sold-out Stockholm Concert Hall (Grünewaldsalen) in February 2023.
Kellermann's album 'Rodrigo, Harden & Coll - Guitar Works' won the Swedish Grammy for best classical album and was named record of the year by Dagens Nyheter.
