Irish hip-hop duo Kneecap performs at B-K in Stockholm.
Kneecap is a Belfast hip-hop trio - Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí - who rap in Irish and English, making them one of the few acts to bring the Irish language into mainstream rap. Formed in 2017 in west Belfast, the group draws on Irish republican politics, working-class youth culture and a sharp, often provocative sense of humour. Their 2024 self-titled biopic won a BAFTA and screened at Sundance, and their 2026 album Fenian received universal critical acclaim.
Kneecap released their third album Fenian on 1 May 2026 via Heavenly Recordings, receiving universal critical acclaim with a Metacritic score of 82.
The UK High Court rejected a CPS appeal, ending the terrorism case against Mo Chara, who had been charged with displaying a Hezbollah flag at a 2024 London concert.
Kneecap announced their third album Fenian and released the single 'Liars Tale' on 28 January 2026.
Kneecap headlined the Vital festival in Belfast and performed at Glastonbury 2025, with the Glastonbury set drawing one of the largest crowds of the weekend.
Kneecap were banned from entering Hungary for three years ahead of a planned Sziget Festival appearance, with the Hungarian government citing national security concerns.
