American singer-songwriter Kurt Vile performs at VEGA.
Kurt Vile (born 1980, Philadelphia) is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist who began releasing lo-fi home recordings in the early 2000s before co-founding The War on Drugs. His solo career, often performed with his backing band The Violators, spans ten studio albums and blends indie rock, folk and psychedelic influences into a distinctively unhurried sound. The 2015 single "Pretty Pimpin" reached #1 on Billboard's Adult Alternative Songs chart and remains his best-known track.
Kurt Vile released his tenth studio album, 'Philadelphia's been good to me', on Verve Records.
Vile announced the album alongside lead single "Chance to Bleed" and a world tour covering North America and Europe through late 2026.
The album's European leg includes dates in France, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Czech Republic, the UK and Ireland.
The album was recorded between late 2023 and early 2026, primarily at Vile's home studio in Philadelphia's Mount Airy neighbourhood.
Vile's signature track "Pretty Pimpin" passed 100 million streams on Spotify, a milestone he acknowledged publicly.
