About

La Tène is a Swiss-French collective built around a core trio - Cyril Bondi, d'Incise (Laurent Peter) and Alexis Degrenier - who draw on traditional folk melodies from the Jura and Auvergne regions and push them through drone, minimalism and free improvisation until they reach something close to trance. Based in Geneva, the group has released five albums on Les Disques Bongo Joe and built a cult following on the European experimental circuit for their long, wordless, hypnotic pieces played on hurdy-gurdy, Indian harmonium, bagpipes and percussion.
