Current 93 is a British experimental music project founded in London in 1982 by David Tibet, who remains its only permanent member. Starting out in the abrasive territory of early industrial music, the project shifted in the mid-1980s toward what Tibet calls 'apocalyptic folk' - acoustic-driven songs steeped in Christian mysticism, esoteric poetry and eschatological imagery. Over more than forty years, Tibet has drawn in a rotating cast of collaborators including Steven Stapleton of Nurse With Wound and Douglas P. of Death In June, releasing over twenty albums.
