Experimental electronic music with Leila Bordreuil (cello, composition), Thomas Ankersmit (modular synthesizer) and Gustav Danielsbacka (The Family Men). An intense, improvisation-driven concert at Folkteatern.
Leila Bordreuil is a French-American cellist, composer and sound artist from southern France, based in Brooklyn since 2012. Trained at the Conservatoire National d'Aix-en-Provence and later at Bard College under Marina Rosenfeld, she pushes the cello far beyond its classical role - using extreme amplification, audio feedback and extended techniques to produce what the New York Times called "steadily scathing music, favoring long and corrosive atonalities". She has performed at MoMA PS1, Lincoln Center, the Barbican and Berlin Atonal, and holds a 2025 Fondation Camargo fellowship.
Bordreuil was named a 2025 Fondation Camargo Fellow (Cassis, France) for her project titled 'Resonance'.
Bordreuil appeared as support act on two sold-out Osees shows at Warsaw, Brooklyn (Oct 25-26, 2025).
Bordreuil performed at Norberg Festival in Sweden (July 10-12, 2025).
Bordreuil performed at the Echo Festival in Marseille alongside Osees and Psychic Graveyard (May 20, 2025).
Bordreuil released the cassette album '1991, Summer, Huntington Garage Fire' on Hanson Records (September 11, 2024).
