Leningrad Symphony

About

The Leningrad Symphony is Dmitri Shostakovich's Seventh Symphony, composed during the German siege of Leningrad in 1941. Premiered that same year, it became a powerful symbol of Soviet resistance. The work is best known for its first movement, where a relentless march theme builds from a whisper to a thundering climax.
