Pianist Maksim performs his virtuoso piano programme during the Segmenti World Tour in Uppsala.
Maksim Mrvica is a Croatian classical crossover pianist born in 1975 in Sibenik, who trained at the Music Academy in Zagreb, the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, and the Alexander Scriabin Conservatory in Paris. His 2003 EMI debut album The Piano Player sold over 4 million copies across 57 countries, making him one of the best-selling crossover pianists in the world. Known for his high-velocity technique - reportedly capable of 16 notes per second - and visually dramatic live shows with lighting and electronics, he has performed at venues from the Sydney Opera House to the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
