About

Martin Rev (born Martin Reverby, December 18, 1947, New York City) is the keyboard half of Suicide, the proto-punk duo he formed with vocalist Alan Vega in 1970. Their minimalist synthesizer-and-drum-machine sound - confrontational, raw, and years ahead of its time - laid groundwork for synth-pop, industrial and electronic music as a whole. Alongside the Suicide catalog, Rev has built a solo body of work that ranges from no-wave electronics to melodic pop, with his 1980 self-titled debut now regarded as a landmark of early electronic music.
