About

Rickard Söderberg (born 1975, Snöstorp, Halland) is a Swedish tenor, opera director and public debater, trained at the Opera Academy of the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen. He has performed leading roles at Malmö Opera, Göteborg Opera, Den Norske Opera and Drottningholms Slottsteater, and is known for baroque, Mozart and Wagner repertoire as well as musical theatre. Beyond the stage he has hosted the Sveriges Radio P2 programme Operahuset and is a prominent voice on LGBTQ+ rights.

Consecutive summers at Ystad Teater with Kammaropera Syd

  • 2025-06

    Söderberg married his long-time partner Anders Söderberg in Sankt Petri kyrka in Malmö, with around 500 guests attending.

  • 2025-07

    Söderberg returned to Ystad Teater for the tenth consecutive summer with Kammaropera Syd's production of Czardasfurstinnan, marking the company's 10th anniversary.

  • 2025-08

    Söderberg performed with soprano Negar Zarassi and the Nordiska Kammarorkestern at Naturscen Skuleberget on 9 August 2025.

  • 2025-2026

    For the 2025/26 season at Malmö Opera, Söderberg serves as MC for the opera gala and co-created the touring revue Bravissimo!

  • 2026-2027

    Söderberg is cast as the Gamekeeper (Skogvaktaren) in Rusalka at Malmö Opera for the 2026/27 season.
