concert19:00Iskallt - Terje Isungset Ice Quartet
Terje Isungset and his Ice Quartet perform music on ice harp, ice horn and other instruments made of ice - a unique concert where each performance becomes its own event.
Terje Isungset (born 1964, Geilo, Norway) is a percussionist, composer and the inventor of ice music - a practice he began in 1999 when he first crafted instruments from natural frozen ice. He founded the Ice Music Festival Norway in 2006 and runs his own label, All Ice Records. Norwegian awards he has received include Jazz Musician of the Year and Composer of the Year, and CNN has called him 'the world's first and only ice musician.'
Isungset's Ice Quartet performed at the opening ceremony of Oulu 2026, the European Capital of Culture, in Finland on January 16-17.
The trio album 'Uncharted Waters' with Arve Henriksen and Eivind Aarset was released on September 21, 2025 - the UN's International Day of Peace - on All Ice Records.
Isungset premiered 'Skifersymfonien' (the Slate Symphony), new music composed for instruments made from stone, with the world premiere on September 28, 2025.
Isungset performed a concert at Nidarosdomen cathedral in Trondheim on August 1, 2025.
The Ice Music Festival returned to Ilulissat, Greenland, with concerts on February 26-27, 2026.
