Brazilian metal legend Soulfly presents its new album CHAMA, marking a generational shift as Max Cavalera's son Zyon takes the helm of production for the first time.
Zyon Cavalera (born January 19, 1993, Phoenix, Arizona) is the drummer of groove metal band Soulfly and the son of frontman Max Cavalera. He joined the band permanently in October 2012 and has appeared on every Soulfly album since Savages (2013). His connection to the band goes back even further - his in utero heartbeat was recorded into the intro of Sepultura's 1993 track 'Refuse/Resist'. For the 2025 album Chama, he stepped up as co-producer alongside Arthur Rizk, marking his first full production credit.
Soulfly released their thirteenth studio album Chama on October 24, 2025 via Nuclear Blast Records, co-produced by Zyon Cavalera - his first production credit on a Soulfly album.
Soulfly's Tribal Technology Tour brought the band to Europe in summer 2026, with dates in Vienna, Berlin, Copenhagen, Stavanger and other cities in support of Chama.
Soulfly announced a North American fall 2026 tour running September 18 to October 15, supported by Nailbomb and Incite.
Soulfly announced Chama in late August 2025 and released three singles ahead of the album: 'Storm the Gates', 'Nihilist' and 'No Pain = No Power'.
Soulfly debuted new material live for the first time on July 8, 2025 in Sofia, Bulgaria, playing 'Favela / Dystopia' from the then-unreleased Chama.
