Soweto Gospel Choir at Draken Live

The internationally acclaimed Soweto Gospel Choir returns to Sweden in 2026 with a brand new production - JOY!, which in Zulu is called Injabulo.

The choir is based in Soweto, South Africa, an area just outside Johannesburg and home to both Nelson Mandela and the country's democratic liberation movement. In JOY!, they draw on South Africa's rich musical heritage, blending traditional African gospel and spirituals with freedom songs and modern classics. The concert celebrates joy, community, and music's power to unite - especially in uncertain times.

As a multiple Grammy Award winner, Soweto Gospel Choir has performed on the world's most prestigious stages and collaborated with artists including Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Peter Gabriel, and U2.
