1017 - Colin Stetson, Stian Westerhus & Erland Dahlen

Trio 1017 consists of Colin Stetson, Stian Westerhus and Erland Dahlen - three musicians who push their instruments to the breaking point. Stetson is known for his saxophone and circular breathing technique, which produces seismic power and sculpted overtones. Westerhus drives the electric guitar to its most expressive limits, bending notes, building walls of sound and singing with a voice that moves between fragility and authority. Dahlen completes the ensemble with an expanded drum kit that shifts between rhythm machine and textural landscape, with a signature focus on bells and space.
