Jacob Karlzon Questar

Over the years, Jacob Karlzon has developed a distinctive rhythmic and sonic language, refined through his own groups and collaborations with artists such as Victoria Tolstoy and Georg Riedel. As always, he emphasizes interplay - both with his fellow musicians and with the audience.

In Questar, he joins forces with Danish trumpeter Mads La Cour, who regularly performs with DR Big Band or saxophonist Chris Potter, bassist Thobias Gabrielson who moves freely between jazz, pop and rock and has toured with artists including Magnus Öström and Timbuktu, and drummer Robert Mehmet Ikiz.

The music navigates the space between the composed and improvised, the acoustic and electronic, with an open window to various genres.
