Elin Forkelid Plays For Trane

Saxophonist and composer Elin Forkelid has been a prominent voice on the Swedish jazz and improvisation scene for over 15 years. She was named newcomer of the year by Sveriges Jazzradio in 2010 for her debut album "Live And Alive", followed by "Let You In" and "Growing Up". Since 2013, she has also worked with Anna Högberg Attack and FIRE! Orkester.

Now Elin focuses on her quintet Elin Forkelid Plays For Trane, which performs distinctive interpretations of John Coltrane's works. The album "Plays for Trane" was released in 2020 and received broad acclaim from the music press. Forkelid creates personal interpretations where both explosive energy and emotional depth find space - with great respect for the original material.
