I Am Ulla Winblad

In Folkoperan's jubilee production "I Am Ulla Winblad," we meet the woman who inspired Bellman's songs. When an aging Bellman seeks out "Ulla," memories come alive in the brutal Stockholm of the 1700s, among rowdy taverns and stinking alleys. With newly composed music by Andrea Tarrodi, a libretto by Klas Östergren, and direction by Nora Nilsson, the audience is offered a grand story about power, class, female identity, and the right to one's own history - featuring Björn Kjellman and Hanna Dorsin in the lead roles.
