About the venue

Folkoperan is one of Stockholm's best-known opera houses, founded in 1976 with the aim of making opera accessible to wider audiences. Its intimate auditorium on Hornsgatan in Södermalm puts the stage unusually close to the audience. The programme ranges from classic opera to newly commissioned music theatre.
