Meet the Radio Correspondents
Medborgarhuset A-salen, Arboga
Sveriges Radio's correspondents are on the ground when news breaks - around the world. They deliver not just rapid news reporting, but also in-depth analysis and background. Sveriges Radio has the Nordic region's largest correspondent network: 20 correspondents worldwide and around ten staff members in Stockholm.
A core task for the correspondents is to cover events that might otherwise be overlooked by the media. Anders Pontara, foreign editor of the Ekot programme, comments: "At a time when journalism and freedom of speech are under attack in more and more countries, it is of utmost importance to be on the ground. To understand the world better, we need both knowledge and presence."
The presentation runs for 1 hour 15 minutes, followed by a 30-minute discussion. Which correspondents will participate will be announced in early autumn.
Organised by Riksteatern in collaboration with Sveriges Radio.
