InTension

In InTension we encounter Rebecca Livaniou in a dance solo that moves in multiple directions simultaneously, without revealing its logic in advance. Inspired by hip-hop battle culture - where something is at stake in every moment - she creates a physical monologue where each movement carries its own energy and charge. Just beneath the surface lies an inner movement, where contradictions and subtle shifts make themselves felt, and moods gradually shift toward a more ambiguous state. It is not about winning against someone else, but about overcoming one's doubts and claiming space - in front of others and in front of oneself.

InTension is Rebecca Livaniou's first solo stage production. It has been created in close collaboration with music producer Kevin Wedin/12Twelve, costume designer Amanda Wisselgren, and lighting designer Thabiso Kubheka Persson. Rebecca Livaniou has previously danced in works by Cullberg and choreographer Lisa Janbell.

The production is a collaboration between Riksteatern and Rebecca Livaniou, with support from Konstnärsnämnden. Performance length: 45 minutes.
