Violetta Takes the Bus
Bussen utgår vid Lidingö Museum, Lidingö
What happens when opera's Violetta boards a bus - seconds before she falls helplessly for Alfredo? She is dying, but wants to live. Violetta from Verdi's La Traviata is one of the passengers, and as familiar places slide past the bus window, she sings out her pain and longing.
The opera platform SAD GIRLS creates a performance together with Riksteatern where Verdi's melodies meet an electronic soundscape with newly composed music by Joel Janson Johansen, based on a concept and new libretto by Sanna Strandberg Colling. Performance length: 1 hour.
Cast: Elisabeth Meyer (Violetta), Daniel Rosenberg (Alfredo), Benjamin Lavén (musician). Artistic team: director Sanna Strandberg Colling, costume and set design Toni Tora Botwid, lighting design Thabiso K. Persson, dramaturgy Felicia Ohly.
A co-production with SAD GIRLS.
