Automata akrobata — Stenkrossen, Lund

Automata akrobata is a performance where the craft of traditional woodworking meets the physical intelligence of circus arts and the power of mechanics. A medieval lathe transforms into a universe of sound, light, and constantly moving mechanical sculptures, where old technology merges with modern circus.

Gears, cranks, and unexpected movements encounter acrobatics and humor. Imagine if a circus artist could skip lifting their partner and let mechanics do the work - or let the circus lathe drive the jump rope while handles are being crafted at the same time. Craftsmanship blends with flying confetti, and the performance explores the interplay between human, nature, and machine.

Performers: Jenny Soddu, Camilla Rud, and Hedvig Flärdh. Scenography: Raleigh and Oliver Klotzek, Per Helldorff, Wild Crafted Home. Scenography and artistic direction: Jonathan Malm. Produced by Arenaslöjd.
