Gustav Lindh and Gizem Erdogan return as Hamlet and Ophelia on Stora scenen - a new version of the production that was a success at Elverket.

Ophelia's mother has vanished without trace in the war. Hamlet's father has been murdered in the struggle for the throne. They are young and lost, surrounded by a deceitful adult world that holds all the power yet seems to take nothing seriously. Now they are consumed by thoughts of revenge and revolution, but struggle to move from thought to action. All around them, preparations for war are underway.

Mattias Andersson - director, playwright, and artistic director of Dramaten - is responsible for the adaptation and direction. He has created a concentrated version of William Shakespeare's classic, often called the play of plays.
