Unrecognized
UNRECOGNIZED is an international theatre project featuring stage artists from Sweden, Kosovo, Ukraine, Georgia, and North Macedonia.
The production draws on the myth of Tauris - a remote, hostile land at the edge of the known world. Six actors from different parts of Europe bring their experiences into a scenic tapestry of documentary material, humour, and poetic imagery, where forgotten stories, intimate memories, and uncertain futures collide.
The script is written by playwrights Davit Gabunia (Georgia) and Jeton Neziraj (Kosovo). The production moves between ancient mythology and contemporary European experience, setting stories of victims against a reality where people are still forced to pay the price for conflict, power, and borders - with humour and sharp insight.
UNRECOGNIZED is co-produced by Qendra Multimedia (Pristina), Royal District Theatre (Tbilisi), Örnproduktion (Stockholm), Theatre on Pechersk (Kyiv), Albanian Theatre Skopje (Skopje), Malmö Stadsteater, Dramaten, and Göteborgs Stadsteater. Supported by Svenska Institutet.
