Avig
Messingen, Scenrummet, Upplands Väsby
Avig is a dance performance for the whole family about fitting in - in your body, in the group, and in the world. With humor, precision, and powerful physical presence, it portrays the feeling of being a little different, and the joy of realizing that maybe it's completely okay.
The performance premiered at Dansens Hus in 2024 and received the Swedish Theatre Critics' Award for children and young people. It was created by the dance company TUBO & Co., founded by dancing composers Tobias Ulfvebrand and Hugo Therkelson. Together with director Martin Hasselgren, they developed the piece. Performers: Sylvie Géhin Karlsson, Åsa Lundvik Gustafson, Oscar Salomonsson, Hugo Therkelson, Tobias Ulfvebrand, and Ninna Oom.
Composition/choreography: Hugo Therkelson & Tobias Ulfvebrand. Direction: Martin Hasselgren. Lighting design: Michael Forsberg. Costume and props design: Lisa Kjellgren Almstig. Set design: FWW arkitektkontor.
Avig is a guest performance by TUBO & Co. - a 2024 co-production of Unga Dramaten, Dansens Hus, and Smart frilanskooperativ. Recommended from age 6. Performance length: 40 minutes.
