In War and Love

The production weaves together two ancient dramas: Aristophanes' comedy Lysistrate, in which Athenian women go on strike against sex and love to stop the war, and Euripides' tragedy The Trojan Women, set in Troy after the Greek victory when the spoils are being divided. Director Anna Pettersson balances comedy against tragedy to portray the nature of war - and above all how it affects women. The performance also includes choral singing.
