The Circus Director's Daughter

On the Bulgarian countryside, in the ruins of the circus "Tsirk Mechka", we meet Sali - a director who has made his decision: this will be the last performance ever. But this time it is not just about circus acts and magic. Something more important is at stake - his dignity. Sali examines himself and invites us into a world of memories. He is a dreamer, he is a survivor. Let him be judged by those who can.

The play alternates circus acts with song and explores themes of identity, guilt, love, loss, and the hope for reconciliation. The performance is written and performed by Steph Molin, himself adopted from Bulgaria. During a guest appearance at a Roma festival in Bucharest, questions and memories about belonging emerged that ultimately needed to be expressed - a child's fantasy about his Roma father.
