River Biographies

River Biographies is a meditative audio work created by artist duo Lundahl & Seitl (Christer Lundahl and Martina Seitl). Up to forty people put on headphones and follow simple movement instructions that form a shared choreography - each person interprets it according to their own ability. Together, the audience recreates the movement of water from source to sea and becomes part of the work itself.

Each performance is shaped by the place where it takes place: by the people who participate and by the waterways nearby. The work moves in the borderland between choreography, sound art, and nature experience. Performance length: 50 minutes. During the Riksteatern tour, the work is performed in Swedish.

River Biographies is a production by Riksteatern in collaboration with Lundahl & Seitl. The work was originally created in collaboration with Liljevalchs Konsthall and West Bund Museum together with Chronus Art Center, Shanghai (CN), and Riksteatern.
